A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Kirksville Osteopathic Alumni Association (KOAA) Board of Directors announced their annual awards at the KOAA Luncheon and Assembly Meeting in October 2010, in conjunction with the

 

The following alumni were recognized during the KOAA Luncheon and Assembly Meeting at the AOA convention in San Francisco.

Michael F. Brooks, D.O., ’66, and his wife, Berna, were presented the Honored Patron lifetime giving award ($15,000-$24,999). Dr. Brooks is a psychiatrist

 

Aaron Davis, D.O., ’08, Wichita, Kan., returned to the earthquake ravaged Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince in February 2011 as part of a continued relief effort to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Haiti. He was accompanied by fellow ATSU-KCOM graduate

Melvin Crouse, D.O., ’58, is a “Grandview Pioneer,” named thus for his service to Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.

Scott Savage, D.O., ’87, co-edited a book of poetry published by Tellico Books entitled “Bleeding Hearts.”

This poem describes what it feels like for a spacewalker to go outside of the vehicle – called an EVA – for the first time.

 

Japanese-Motif Bowl was carved by A.T. Still ca 1900. The design includes iris blossoms alternating with Japanese characters and was a gift to the Museum of Osteopathic MedicineSM from Elizabeth Laughlin.
