Here’s your exclusive scoop on what makes ATSU’s newly named president tick. He sat down with Still Magazine after his designation and answered a few of our burning questions.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given since being named the next ATSU president?
A: The job is not about you but about A.T. Still University. And, to take care of yourself and your family.

Q: What music is on your iPod?
A: A mix from hip-hop to 80s hits.
Q: What book are you reading?
A: “The Advantage” by Lencioni.
Q: What is one thing that no one at ATSU knows about you?
A: Before attending KCOM, I taught kindergarten through 6th grade in California.
Q: What is your favorite food/dessert?
A: Italian and anything chocolate.
Q: Who are your favorite professional athletes that you’ve worked with?
A: Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Charles Barkley, and Shaq.
Q: What is your biggest pet-peeve?
A: People talking over others and not listening.
Q: What do you do to de-stress?
A: Exercise, meditate, and talk with friends and family.
Q: Why did you decide to become a doctor?
A: As a child I saw the relief on patients’ faces as they left our family doctor’s office, and I felt it would be a great opportunity to help others.
Q: What are your hobbies/favorite activities?
A: Spending time with my wife Stacy and son Zach, exercising, and reading.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about being a dad?
A: Seeing my son’s smile and hearing his voice. Really everything, I enjoy each moment.
